A Summary of the Life of Jesus

Why did Jesus command people to not tell others of the miracles He performed?.

             3) The Arrest and Trial of Jesus .

             Mark 14:44-54.

"Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: "The one I kiss is the man; arrest him and lead him away under guard". ".

The kiss from Judas was a sign for guards to take him away. When Jesus dies, the temple was torn in two. Are the accounts of the arrest, trial, and crucifixion of Jesus contained in the bible history remembered or prophecy fulfilled? Put another way, do the accounts strive to accurately describe history or do they seek to use the life of Jesus to advance a religious movement? Why was Jesus arrested?.

             4) Resurrection of Jesus .

             Mark 16:1-8.

"Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go; tell his disciples and Peter, ˜He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you. ".

This signifies new life, baptism. The resurrection of Jesus is important for several reasons. First, it witnesses to the immense power of God himself. To believe in the resurrection is to believe in God. If God exists, and if he created the universe and has power over it, he has power to raise the dead. If he does not have such power, he is not a God worthy of our faith and worship. Only he who created life can resurrect it after death, only he can reverse the hideousness that is death itself, and only he can remove the sting that is death and the victory that is the graves.

(1 Corinthians 15:54-55). In resurrecting Jesus from the grave, God reminds us of his absolute sovereignty over life and death.

If you were just going to die and go out of existence, would you come for salvation? Let me ask you the second question. Would you spend your life diligently, faithfully serving God with all your heart if there were no resurrection? Would you live a circumscribed, holy, godly, virtuous life if there was no future reward or accountability or punishment?.
